Day 17 : Cherry Bakewell

  
An amazing, old fashioned combo but made healthy, raw and revitalising! I’m a huge fan of toasted almonds and put them on everything, sweet and savoury. Smoothies are no exception. I’m from the North and there, we like our cakes. Cherry Bakewells are a staple but aren’t particularly good for you and are full of sugar and butter. This is the answer. Creamy and sweet, I used frozen black cherries so this one was cheap to make, too! 
You’ll need: 

10-12 black pitted cherries

1.5 cups almond milk

1 banana

1 tsp vanilla essence

1 tsp maple syrup

2 tbsp toasted, flaked almonds

1 tbsp ground almonds
Blend all of the ingredients apart from the Cherries until smooth. Pour half of the mixture into a jug and add the cherries to the other half. Blend until combined and layer or marble into a tall glass.
